7 DAY KRUGER PARK SAFARI AND COMMUNITY SERVICE

Day 1:

 

You will be met at OR Tambo International Airport by your driver and transported to The Safari Club for your first nights stay in Johannesburg on a bed and breakfast basis (Dinner is available as an optional extra)

 

Day 2:

 

We collect you from your accommodation in Johannesburg around 6am and transfer you to the shuttle service at OR Tambo International Airport. Shuttle service departs in an air-conditioned bus to Hoedspruit. You will pass through the picturesque Mpumalanga farmlands en route to your lunch destination in Hoedspruit (client’s that fly into Hoedspruit Eastgate airport will be collected). After lunch (at own cost), we proceed to your first overnight accommodation at Bongan African Lodge in an African Village near the Manyeleti Reserve. Upon arrival, our dedicated staff will welcome you and show you to your chalets, where you can relax for a while. Your first official safari experience will commence shortly after settling into your accommodation – the Sunset Drive. Enjoy as the last rays of the gorgeous light bathe the African bushveld in vivid reds, yellows, and pinks (Hint: the lighting will add a romantic element to your photographs!). The Sunset Drive allows you the unique experience of spotting some nocturnal creatures that ordinarily are hidden during the day – watch out for eyes glowing in the dark! Return to the Bongan African Lodge for a delicious dinner around 7pm – where the day’s adventures can be shared over a warm meal. Stay overnight in your comfortable chalet..

Day 3:

Wake up early and enjoy a packed breakfast on your way to your entire day game viewing experience in the Kruger National Park. Searching to see the Big 5! Dinner will be served from 7:30pm in the Bongan boma..

 

Day 4:

 

After Breakfast, your guide will take you to the Funjwa Children’s School, where your first day of engaging in community projects begins. This provides an educational opportunity to immerse yourself in the local children’s way of life, ideal for the humanitarian traveller wishing to learn, grow and participate. Community service projects include: • Reading books to the students • Environmental education (climate change, eco-awareness, wildlife conservation, etc) • Assisting in planting a self-sustaining vegetable garden • Painting classrooms • Assisting in sports activities / extra-curricular entertainment (eg. games and challenges) • English language skills • We are assisting in cooking meals for the children

 

Day 5:

 

After breakfast, continue with your community service projects. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Manyeleti Reserve or Kruger Park. Keep your eyes peeled, and your cameras ready as your guide takes you on yet another immersive game-viewing experience.

 

Day 6:

 

Panoramic tour for the day. Depart after breakfast. Visit Three Rondawels, Bourkes Potholes, God’s Window, and Mac Mac Falls

 

Day 7:

 

An early game drive in Manyeleti / Kruger Park. After breakfast at 10am, we transfer you to your shuttle service in Hoedspruit who will the take you to OR Tambo International Airport.
